Try combining traditional boba pearls with a milky, fruity tea flavor, like strawberry, cantaloupe, or blueberry. Or mix baby boba with one of the unique smoothie-style teas, featuring unusual flavors like avocado, red bean, and taro. If you want to try something other than traditional tapioca pearls, you can substitute a variety of chewy fruit jellies (like mango or green apple) or even egg pudding mixed into your drink.

Battlefield Houston: A Tricked-Out Laser Tag Arena

Don't let its name fool you: Battlefield Houston is actually a place for fun to be had. Proudly billing itself as the largest indoor laser tag center in the country, players have sensors on their heads (no vests) and are tasked with completing specific tactical missions—with the ultimate goal of crushing the opponent, of course!

Unlike your typical course, players encounter ramps, stairs, and other challenges that make the hour-long play both thrilling and exhilarating. The center offers a number of party packages, welcomes walk-ins for open play, and it has a mobile armory, as well. The really adventurous can choose to attend a "lock-in" and spend the night and following morning engaging in a number of planned mini games.

Super H Mart: Find Your Favorite Korean Cuisine Staples

Super H Mart is a popular Korean grocery store serving northwestern Houston. If it's your first time to Super H Mart, be sure to walk around the entire market and familiarize yourself with the large and varied stock.

Here, you'll find an enormous selection of kimchi, half an aisle of different noodle varieties, and everything from roasted seaweed to wild squid. In fact, Super H's seafood department is a particular favorite among market regulars, as it has a large selection of fish so fresh that many of them are still swimming around in tanks until the minute you buy them. Don't forget the wide selection of boxed and packaged foods, either. Pick up some udon or ramen, or purchase a bag of Korean pancake mix to make for your breakfast.

If you have time to sit down, you can get a hot meal in the market's on-site food court, or if you're in a rush, just pick up some Korean staples to prepare at home.

K1 Speed: Enjoy Go-Kart Racing in Houston, Texas

The indoor go-kart racing arena in Houston sticks guests in safe, eco-friendly electric go karts and sends them soaring around the racetrack. Though K1 only opened its first location in 2003, the flagship California located quickly launched 19 others, with more planned in the near future.

Its popularity as a spot for families and groups of friends is solidified by the extras that surround the race track. The cinema is part of a chain that combines a time-tested date night itinerary: dinner and a movie. Before you even head to the theater, it's best to reserve your seats online so they'll be waiting for you when you arrive, but you can also reserve them at the box office. Once you get to Studio Movie Grill, grab a drink and appetizer at the bar before your film—the showings are a blend of first-run and indie films.

You should take your seat, which is outfitted with a personal-sized table, about 20 minutes before the film begins so that you can order a meal from your server. The menu evokes a classic American grill, offering plentiful burgers, grilled chicken sandwiches, and pasta and meat entrees. Order as often as you want throughout the movie—your server will come right to you at the press of a button.
