Learn and Play at the Children’s Museum of Houston, not far from 3800 Main in Houston

If you have a hands-on learner at home—and at a certain age, what child isn't?—then play a visit to the Children's Museum of Houston. As its name indicates, the museum is geared specifically toward pint-sized learners. That means every colorful exhibit invites kids to touch, not like a stuffy history museum.

Make the short drive from 3800 Main to Children's Museum of Houston the next time bad weather keeps you indoors (or if your kids have just grown weary of the heat). Check out the Building Zone, where kids can learn how to construct and design buildings. You and your brood can also head to the Science Station, which makes difficult concepts easy to understand thanks to 3D models. The Communication Speedway, part of the larger How Does It Work? exhibit, demonstrates how messages fly through fiberoptic wires. No matter what makes your little one curious, you'll both be able to learn more about it at The Children's Museum of Houston.
