As you might be able to surmise just from the spelling of its name, The Breakfast Klub does things a little bit differently. It starts with eliminating the letter "c" from its menu (hence the koffee and katfish), and carries over into kustomer service. Founder Marcus Davis knows a thing or two about that thanks to his upbringing. Along with his brothers, he grew up working with his dad at the family's Houston-based catering business.

Now Davis is in charge at The Breakfast Klub. The Houston eatery near 3800 Main attracts an eclectic group of patrons, from college kids to businessmen, but one thing you can always count on is a crowd. Don't be deterred by the snaking line, though. Once you get your grub, it'll all be worth it. Try the wings and waffle or the katfish and grits, two of the most popular breakfast dishes, perhaps with a bottomless kup of koffee or a kafe au lait.
