Salmon belly with ikura. Eel with ginger and orange. Spicy scallop and avocado. These are just a few of the inventive combinations featured on Uchi's sushi and sashimi menu. Although they pair vastly different flavors, each seafood creation has one thing in common: it showcases some of the freshest seafood on the market in Houston. In addition to the sushi and sashimi, which rely heavily on Japanese tradition for inspiration, Uchi also serves specialty rolls and tapas from all around the globe. Try the ham and eggs sushi roll, which actually doesn't contain any sushi at all. Instead, it features katsu pork belly (the "ham"), egg yolk custard, and espelette. Or opt for small plates like the crispy Brussels sprouts with lemon chili, smoked duck confit with bacon and endives, and tempura-fried cauliflower.
