It'd be easy to walk right by Last Concert Cafe. The eatery is nothing more than a simple stucco structure with a red door. There's no sign out front for guidance, and you'll have to knock to be let in as the door is always locked. But if you're serious about Mexican food, a meal at Last Concert is well worth the extra effort. According to regulars, it boasts some of the best Mexican cuisine in Houston.

So make the short trip from 3800 Main to Last Concert Cafe if you're craving fresh tacos, loaded nachos, or black bean tostadas. Along with a list of Mexican brews, the food makes for a filling meal. And true to its name, Last Concert Cafe also hosts live music nearly every night. Its dining room is softly lit and covered with colorful murals, so you'll feel almost like you're in an underground club—but with much better grub.
