Beaver’s proves that even a restaurant for carnivores can craft some stellar vegetarian fare with its nut burger. In lieu of beef, the patty is made from cashews, walnuts, and brown rice. Even non-vegetarians seem to agree that chefs hit it out of the park with this meat-free burger. But if you prefer actual meat, the beef brisket between pieces of Texas toast also earns rave reviews. So do the shrimp po'boys, the crab cakes, and the crawfish, not to mention the many creative versions of mac and cheese on the menu.

Only a short drive stands between you at 3800 Main and the eclectic American fare at Beaver's, and the food isn't the only reason locals flock here. Beaver's also has many Texan brews on draft, as well as craft cocktails and mocktails. So if you're craving some fresh seafood, a beer, and good company, bring a few friends along to Beaver's for dinner.
