League Park: All Aboard

A train caboose might seem like an odd feature for a park, but it fits right in at League Park. After all, the community park resides right along the railroad tracks that once conveyed trains from Houston to Galveston, so the car pays homage to the rich history of the area. Climb inside and look around or let your littles ones do the exploring.

Then step back out into the shade of towering oak trees and feed the koi and turtles in the pretty pond or set up a picnic lunch in the gazebo. You can also head to the playground, which is equipped with everything you need to keep youngsters entertained on a sunny afternoon. Stay tuned for the local events held at League Park, too, such as movie nights, carnivals, expos, and even the occasional impromptu classic car show.

Main Event: From Laser Tag Arena to Indoor Ropes Course

Other bowling alleys, laser tag arenas, and mini golf courses can't hold a candle to Webster's Main Event, regulars say. That's because this family fun center doesn't just have one of these kid-friendly attractions—it has all of them. Bring along your entire brood and play a round of laser tag in Main Event's decked-out obstacle course, complete with secret passageways, glowing arches, and creeping fog. There's also a bowling alley, brought into the modern era by screens over the lanes and soft colored lighting.

Mini golf, karaoke, and arcade games are all available at Main Event, as well, but perhaps the most unique attraction? The Gravity Ropes. Perhaps more aptly described as an indoor ropes course, the Gravity Ropes give kids a chance to test their agility as they're hoisted aloft. The midair obstacle course features all necessary safety precautions, but that shouldn't detract from the thrill as you or your child scramble across rope bridges and climb various other structures.

Main Event Entertainment: Indoor Fun for All Ages

Main Event Entertainment is a large event space in the League City area that has endless opportunities for fun. Ms. Monkey’s Emporium: Gourmet Popcorn That Doesn’t Monkey Around

Although the atmosphere inside of Ms. Monkey’s Emporium is a bit zany, they’re serious about their popcorn. This gourmet popcorn cafe is furnished with wild leopard print upholstery, a throne in one corner, and even two real live monkeys that wander the shop. Tables with comfortable leather chairs are also situated throughout the small dining area for guests who want to relax and enjoy their treats.

Ms. Monkey’s popcorn comes in sweet flavors like raspberry, cherry vanilla, and buttery cinnamon toast, as well as savory flavors like pizza and Texas ranch. In addition to its popcorn, the cafe serves made-from-scratch monkey bread and espresso drinks for an added dose of caffeine. This isn’t your typical coffee shop or cafe, but that’s just what makes Ms. Monkey’s Emporium so much fun.

Putt Putt Fun House: Plan a Family Fun Night

The Putt Putt Fun House on Nasa Parkway in Webster has everything a kid (or a kid at heart) could ever want. With more than 30 years in the entertainment business, this place has put together an impressive collection of kid-friendly activities all under one roof. You'll find an incredible 54 holes of mini golf, as well as a black-lit laser tag arena with lots of obstacles, hiding spots, and corners to duck behind. Kids will enjoy the gigantic foam ball-filled play area, and everyone will have fun seeing a movie in the Fun House's 3-D theater. A rock climbing wall, bumper cars, bumper boats, and arcade games round out the activities that are available here.

You can pay as you go, or pick up an all-day pass for unlimited fun. When you visit, you'll definitely see kids having a blast, and you might even spy a few moms and dads sneaking in a game of skeeball or two.

Union Tavern: Your Friendly Neighborhood Bar in Webster

There’s nothing better than having a go-to neighborhood bar right near your home, and Union Tavern is that place for many Webster residents. This friendly bar and grill is located in a large white brick building right in the Clear Lake area, and inside it has a classic, rustic look that gives it a relaxed feel.

While Union Tavern isn’t as trendy or decorative as more modern bars, it’s the perfect place to go to enjoy an icy cold beer and some live music. There are a number of pool tables and dart boards along the walls of the interior, while small wooden tables and a long, wooden bar offer ample seating where customers can enjoy food and drinks.
