Texas Avenue Park: Outdoor Fun in Webster, Texas

One of the best spots in the Webster area to enjoy some outdoor recreation is the spacious and charming Texas Avenue Park. Covering twenty acres, this well-designed recreation destination has a little something for everyone.

A gravel walking and running trail stretches a little under half a mile and is often in use by people running laps. There are plenty of facilities for athletics as well – tennis courts, a baseball field and areas for basketball are all well-used. If you’d just like to relax, there are plenty of picnic areas with benches and free BBQ grills available. A covered pavilion is available for rent for parties and events. For kids, a huge and well-maintained playground will give them hours of fun times. The city keeps this park pristine, too, which is a bonus. One caveat: there are no dogs or other pets allowed in the park, on-leash or off, so leave your furry friends at home.

Jamba Juice: Fresh Juice in Webster, Texas

One of the most successful fast food franchises of the century is Jamba Juice. With a menu of smoothies that fuse fresh fruit and various nutritional additives to create filling, healthy drinks that leave diners satisfied, it’s staked out a comfortable niche in a crowded industry. And the Webster Jamba Juice is a sterling example of the franchise.

Unlike other smoothie places, Jamba Juice doesn’t use fruit syrups to make their drinks – everything is made from fresh fruits and vegetables. Some favorite combinations include the pomegranate pick-me-up, made from the antioxidant-rich superfruit along with strawberries, blueberries and raspberry sherbet. If you’re health-conscious, they also sell a number of vegetable-based smoothies like the orange carrot karma. Jamba Juice has also diversified into a variety of food offerings, including baked goods, breakfast wraps and flatbreads. The commitment to the environment extends through using recycled paper for all their cups.

Baloch Ice Cream & Juice: Sweet Flavors in Webster, Texas

This Webster sweet shop brings a bit of international flair to dessert! Baloch Ice Cream & Juice was opened by a pair of college friends who believed that the diverse tastes of Texas diners would support a new kind of sweet shop, and Baloch's popularity has proven them right.

Diners interested in trying something new will find a wide selection of delicious tastes waiting for them here. The falooda is a popular choice – this traditional dessert is made with rose syrup, vermicelli, basil seeds and tapioca pearls and then flavored with milk and ice cream with fresh fruit. Also tasty are the golas, shaved ices served with fresh fruit. Their mango lassi is delicious as well. The prices here reflect the quality of the desserts, as much of what's on offer is hand-crafted right on site!

Nothing Bundt Cakes: One Sweet Kitchen

There are plenty of places to pick up desserts in the Webster area, but one bakery that stands out from the pack is Nothing Bundt Cakes. As you might be able to infer from the name, this place specializes in bundt cakes, those distinctive ring-shaped treats that originate from northern Europe. In 1997, two long-time friends from Webster came together with the desire to start their own business. They realized that they had a real talent for baking and perfected a unique bundt cake recipe using the best available ingredients.

Some of the favorite offerings at Nothing Bundt Cakes include the lemon, which is refreshing and invigorating, as well as the comforting pumpkin spice. They’re famous for the rich frosted cream cheese petals that top every cake. You can get their cakes in a variety of sizes, from family-size desserts to cute little individual portions, and prices are very reasonable.

Putt-Putt FunHouse: Fun For The Whole Family

Upstage Arts: Learn to Play

Set the stage for your budding young thespian at Upstage Arts, a theatre company for kids from age five to eighteen. In addition to acting, kids learn every aspect of theatrical production, including building sets, painting scenery, operating the technical booth, selling concessions and working backstage. Students perform and direct productions, which include age-appropriate dramas, comedies and musicals. Classes and workshops include Acting 101 and 102 and Voice Technique. The Fun Never Stops on Kemah Boardwalk

A year-round carnival by the bay, Kemah Boardwalk boasts themed restaurants, retail shops, and fun for the whole family.  There’s a parade of good seafood, with heavy-hitting chains like Joe's Crab Shack, Landry's Seafood House, The Cadillac Bar, and The Crab House, among others. The Aquarium Restaurant is built around a stunning 50,000-gallon aquarium brimming with marine life.  Shopping is mostly limited to toys, candy, and small gifts, such as Christmas at Kemah, which offers winter-themed collectibles. But the fun hasn’t started! Kemah’s 35 acres feature a 36-foot carousel, a 65-foot Ferris wheel, and rides like the Aviator, the Inverter and the Boardwalk Tower. (A day pass for the rides is $20.)  Don’t miss the arcade and Midway games, too. Weekdays are naturally slower here, and some rides may close for maintenance in the winter.
