Join us as we enjoy watching the 4th of July Parade floats, fire engines, and horses travel through the Town Center and Market Street areas, beginning and ending at The Woodlands United Methodist Church. Don't miss the jugglers, clowns, and live entertainment prior to the 4th of July Parade!

Collins Park: A Gorgeous Park Along Cypress Creek

Collins Park is situated on 55 acres along Cypress Creek. It’s a great place to unwind with some outdoor activities, whether you’re into volleyball, soccer, baseball or fishing.

The park boasts five lighted softball fields, four lighted baseball fields, a soccer field, a lighted basketball pavilion and a sand volleyball court. The little ones will likely enjoy the two playgrounds at the park where they can frolic to their heart’s content. The amphitheatre plays host to a variety of fun events and the skate park is a great place for kids to practice their skateboard moves. You can put on your hiking shoes and head to the nature trail for a stress-reducing stroll in a great setting.

Father's Day Weekend at Woodlands Church is so big, they call it FATHERPALOOZA!

It's designed to celebrate and honor our fathers in a man-sized environment that men and their families can enjoy. They will have BBQ, Kettle Corn, Funnel Cakes, and more.

Classic Cars, Hot Cars… just about anything with Heavy Metal and Horsepower at all of their locations. Got horsepower? Shine it up and show it off at FATHERPALOOZA this Father's Day Weekend, June 14-15, 2014!

Cars must be parked starting at 3:30 pm on Saturday, June 14 and can be picked up Sunday, June 15 after 1:30 pm. They have 24-hour security and need you to leave your vehicle overnight if possible. They can make exceptions depending on how cool your car is. They need a general description to determine if it is FATHERPALOOZA worthy.

Dosey Doe: Food, Music, and Fun in a Rustic Spot

An old tobacco barn has been re-purposed to become the Dosey Doe, a great place for food, music, and fun near Avana Six Pines. When you come in, you’ll immediately be taken away by the large space. The Big Barn has great acoustics – perfect for listening to music! But first, have a seat and a meal. The chef at the Dosey Doe believes in cooking everything from scratch, using only the freshest local ingredients. Check out the Blue Plate Specials like grilled rib-eye or bacon wrapped quail. The everyday entrees like the “Ginormous” chicken fried steak with garlic potatoes and gravy will satisfy any appetite. And then, there’s the music! Volunteer for the Montgomery County Animal Shelter!

The Montgomery County Animal Shelter holds new volunteer orientations each Sunday of every month at noon. The Shelter houses 700-800 dogs and cats at a time and is ALWAYS in need of volunteers. Volunteer duties covered during the orientation include, but are not limited to, dog walking, cat socializing, adoption coordinating, dog bathing, fostering, and administrative duties. Special interest volunteer opportunities such as fundraising, event planning, and photography are covered as needed. Volunteers must be 18 years old or 16 with a signed parental waiver. Anyone under the age of 16 who is interested in volunteering should contact the MCAS PET PALS youth/ parent volunteer group coordinator at felechaf@gmail.com.
