With more than 1,000 beers to choose from, you'll be sure to find something that suits your taste at Sergio's World Beers in Louisville. To orient yourself within that much variety, try taking the online "beer tour" to search by geographic region and taste preferences.

This popular pub is generally crowded with happy locals who are free to wander through the various coolers to grab whatever bottled beer suits their fancy. Draft beers can also be ordered at the bar. Eiderdown: European-Inspired Southern Cuisine

Eiderdown's chefs draw inspiration from German fare, along with traditional French cooking methods to create one of Louisville's most unique dining destinations.

The seasonal menu features more than 20 draft beers that pair well with such European-inspired Southern food as duck confit with spaghetti squash salad or roasted chicken with collard greens and sausage. And while international places inspire the cuisine, the restaurant uses ingredients from local artisans. Many of Eiderdown’s meats and cheeses come from local farms in Kentucky and Indiana.

THE WALK AWAY FROM COLON CANCER & 5K RUN is an event to raise awareness and funds to eliminate preventable colon cancer by increasing screening rates.

Each year, thousands of families are affected by this common but little discussed disease. Colon cancer is the 2nd leading cancer killer in both men and women in Kentucky, Indiana, and the whole U.S. despite the fact that it is one of the most preventable forms of cancer.

By participating in the 5K, you and your team join our growing movement to make colon cancer a disease of the past. The Colon Cancer Prevention Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit on a mission to end preventable colon cancer death and suffering.

Don’t Skip the Pretzel Doughnuts at Nord’s Bakery

You won't regret paying a visit to Nord's Bakery, one of Louisville’s favorite spots for sweet treats. Try the famous Kentucky-shaped iced sugar cookies, or go for a few of the "pretzel donuts," which are shaped like pretzels, but taste like doughnuts through and through. The cinnamon rolls are another local favorite here, as are the cheese danishes, and of course, the wide variety of glazed and sugared doughnuts. If you find yourself overwhelmed by all of the options in the display case, the friendly staff can help you narrow down what you want. And if it's your first time into the shop, they might even give you a freebie taste of a few items!

Bring cash or prepared to make a big order: There's a $6 minimum for cards, and the doughnuts are so reasonably priced that $6 will get you a boxful. Finally, don't forget to order a cup of coffee to help wash down your delicious treat.
