How was everyone's weekend? What did you do? Did anyone have a chance to check out the St. Joe's picnic? I heard there was a lot of money raised for the children!!! Way to go Hillview!!!
Picnic with a Purpose!
Come on out! St. Joe's Picnic from noon-midnight Saturday, August 9th! This picnic could not happen without the dedication of over 3,000 volunteers! Some individuals, families, and groups have been volunteering at the Picnic for over 50 years! Start your own legacy of volunteerism, help support our mission of "giving children a home," and have a good time doing it!
Burgers Go Beyond the Ordinary at Louisville’s Bluegrass Burgers
Bluegrass Burgers offers quick and casual dining in Louisville, but the burgers are anything but what you’d expect from a restaurant you stop in on the fly. The burgers here are grilled to-order, and you can customize your sandwich at the free toppings bar, which features local produce and a variety of sauces.
While there are grass-fed, 100% Kentucky bison and beef burgers, there are also gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian options, like the garden burger or house-made black bean burger. You can turn any burger into a cheeseburger by selecting from the restaurant’s house cheeses or local artisan cheeses, which are non-pasteurized and free of synthetic hormones. Each order comes with hand-cut fries, coleslaw, baked beans, or soup.
Owned and operated by four gals, Bluegrass Burgers offers indoor and outdoor seating. Inside, you can scoot up to a counter that runs along a wall of windows. If al fresco is more your style, head out to the outdoor wooden patio lined with flower boxes.

Learn About Chess Variants Online
Chess variants are other games derived from or inspired by the game of chess. Most of these games use different pieces, have different game boards, or use different rules from traditional chess. Whether you already play and love chess or you simply can’t get into the game, just about anyone will love to play these exciting and logical alternatives to the historical game of chess.
Chess960
Chess960 is a chess variant that uses the same pieces and the same game board, but the pieces in the first rank are randomized, with opposing pieces mirroring them. This is a great game for expert chess players, because it makes it impossible to memorize opening lines.
Glinski’s Hexagonal Chess
This derivation of chess uses a unique hexagonal board instead of the standard square chess board. The board contains 91 cells in three different colors, and it uses the usual chess pieces, with the addition of one extra bishop and one extra pawn. Glinski’s chess is an incredibly popular variant, especially in Eastern Europe.
Apocalypse
Apocalypse is played on a much smaller scale than regular chess, using only a 5×5 board and two horses and five footmen on each team. The two players make their moves simultaneously, and the game is over when one player captures all of the other player’s footmen.
