Kentucky Derby Museum: The Tradition of Horse Racing

The Kentucky Derby Museum in Louisville is an engaging and interactive space where you can learn about Throroughbred racing, Churchill Downs and the Kentucky Derby — an American institution. The museum's permanent exhibits give you a glimpse into every aspect of horse racing at Churchill Downs. Here you can explore Millionaires Row, participate in simulated betting and see vintage jockey gear. You can also try to be a jockey and mount a simulated horse, trying to maintain a jockey's stance for two minutes! Racing fans love the enthusiastic guided tour that comes with admission.

You can spend a memorable day at the Kentucky Derby Museum seven days a week. The hours vary with the seasons so be sure to check the website before heading over.

Saffron’s Persian Restaurant: A Journey Of Spice

Saffron's Persian Restaurant is a popular Middle Eastern restaurant that has been brining quality Persian and Iranian food to downtown Louisville diners for over a decade. Saffron's high level of quality and service has remained consistent over those ten years. Owner Majid Ghavami greets patrons at the door with a warm smile and a firm handshake, guiding patrons to their tables and making them feel completely at home. He’ll often even sit down at a table to carry on a conversation with a regular! Once you have a chance to open the menu, you’ll find an assortment of delights on offer. The menu is kept purposefully small, but everything is good. Open up with Saffron's traditional sabzie plate: minced herbs and feta cheese, served with warm pita bread fresh from the oven. It’ll prepare your palate for the wonders to come. Regulars recommend Saffron's tender, perfectly spiced braised lamb, as well as its Mike’s Special plate.
