A restaurant bar located inside Havana Hotel on the San Antonio River Walk, Ocho is known for its charming ambiance, mixed drinks, and food. Havana Hotel is more than a century old and lends the weight of its history to Ocho, which locals love for its classy furniture and stately chandeliers. Popular menu items include the chorizo con queso, the salmon con arroz gandules, the pollo al sarten and the Havana cubano. Round out your meal with the mojito, locals say it is superb.
Like other restaurants on the River Walk, Ocho can be a bit pricey, but locals say it’s worth it for the food and ambiance. Though the wine list is not extensive, regulars feel that it’s well-matched to the menu. Ocho doesn’t take reservations, but business here is booming so be prepared to wait for a table. Ocho is open Sundays through Thursdays from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 12 a.m.
