Yale Repertory Theatre: Witness the Future of Theatre on Yale’s Historic Campus
May 3, 2016 | trioonline
Founded more than 45 years ago in the former Calvary Baptist Church at the edge of Yale’s main campus, the Yale Repertory Theatre brings modern interpretations of classic American theater to New Haven. With a history of Yale Rep productions advancing to Broadway, a visit to the theater promises a sweeping, exhilarating theatrical experience in an off-Broadway setting.
This spring, Yale Rep hosts the world premiere of These Paper Bullets, described as “a modish rip-off of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing” and featuring songs by Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong. For a more heavy-hitting viewing experience, Yale Rep will also be presenting The House That Will Not Stand, a 19th-century romance played out in a web of family secrets. It has been declared one of the ten reasons for theater-lovers to leave New York in 2014 by Time Magazine. Visit the Yale Repertory Theatre’s website for box office and ticketing information, as well as the full run-down on upcoming performances and more.
