A Steak to Remember at Birk’s Restaurant
November 13, 2012 | sack
Sometimes you just need a steak, right? Rare and tender, the kind of meal where each bite is savored and remembered for weeks. You’ll drop serious coin on such an event, but you only live once. When the mood strikes, Birk’s in Santa Clara is a must, and once there so is the Chairman’s Option Tasting Menu, essentially a flight of some of the most amazing red (and white) meat you’ll ever devour: lamb chops, bone-in rib chops, grass-fed filet mignon, and free-range veal T-bone. Again, this isn’t cheap: $80 a person (or $115 if you sample Birk’s suggested wines, too), so put it on your bucket list. If the prix fixe menu isn’t your thing, or if you’re looking for a power lunch—Birk’s is rated one of Santa Clara’s best business-lunch spots—Birk’s has you more than covered. Try the Lunch Reserve menu’s Moroccan-spiced domestic lamb rack, and thank us later. Also, importantly, Birk’s is a huge supporter of wines produced in the Santa Clara Mountains region, especially California cabernet sauvignons.
