Giovanni’s Pizzeria: New York Pizza in Silicon Valley
November 27, 2012 | sack
You won’t get there in a yellow NYC Taxi or the MTA, but Giovanni’s Pizzeria does offer one of the best incarnations of New York-style pizza in Silicon Valley. At the core of New York’s culinary staple is a thin, crispy crust, light enough to distinguish itself from its heavyweight Chicago counterpart, but sturdy enough to support heaps of toppings. All the concoctions you’d grab on 34th Street and 8th Avenue are here: combination (pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, olives), gourmet (ricotta, sausage, pesto, garlic, olives, tomatoes), rustic (chicken, garlic, tomato and basil), and so on. And like any good New York street corner eatery, Giovanni’s Pizzeria offers a range of subs, like chicken and eggplant parmiagianas and Philly cheese steaks.
