San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art: San Jose’s Cultural Hub

May 28, 2013 | sack

The SoFa District in San Jose is home to many locally, nationally, and internationally lauded cultural institutions. The Institute of Contemporary Art is no exception to this tradition of celebrating culture and the arts in San Jose. As part of the great arts tradition, downtown San Jose has a "First Friday" art walk occurring on – you guessed it – the first Friday of each month. Because the Institute of Contemporary Art is right along the walk, First Friday is a great to come by and see all that this wonderful museum and gallery has to offer. For regular hours, make sure to call ahead for hours as they can vary by the season. You'll also want to ask about the rotating and traveling exhibitions, which you can also find information about on the Institute's website. Classes are taught on a seasonal basis here as well, and there are many interesting lectures to attend. Expand your artistic horizons and stop by the cultural hub of the South Bay.
