June 18, 2016 | sack

If music makes you come alive, then you won’t want to miss the City of Palo Alto’s biggest event of the year. City officials have declared June 19 World Music Day, a free festival that takes place in cities across the globe each year.

For the eighth consecutive year in a row, the city dedicates the day to sounds that will make you sway, dance, and sing along. Bring your best dancing shoes and wear comfortable clothing to enjoy the day as 50 professional and amateur music groups make University Avenue their stage. Hear a variety of tunes and genres, including pop, jazz, rock, classical, folkloric dance tunes, choral, and more. All performances are open to the public and are completely free!

World Music Day festivities run between 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on June 19.
