Computer History Museum: Bits and Bytes of History
March 26, 2013 | sack
It can be easy to take that 32 gigabyte iPhone for granted, but it’s still astonishing that the little tool in our pockets possesses more power than a machine that covered hundreds of square feet just a few decades ago. The Computer History Museum in Mountain View helps put whatever device you’re reading this on in perspective. The museum’s newest exhibit — Revolution: The First 2000 Years of Computing — traverses the rise of modern civilization’s efforts to calculate, ranging from the abacus to the laptop. As this is a museum all about technology, expect exhibits to be immersively interactive instead of just showing off old machines. To get a taste of what the Computer History Museum has in store, visit the website. Admission is just $15 and students, seniors, and active military members get a three-dollar discount.
