June 14, 2016 | sack

Want to encourage your teen to do more reading over the summer? Enroll them in the Teen Summer Reading Kick-Off! Those in grades 7 through 12 can take part in this fun event, which begins on June 17 at the Northside Branch Library. There will even be prizes awarded to the top readers!

This summer camp event kicks off at 4 p.m., and there’s plenty to do besides pick up your next batch of reading material. Create cool totes, buttons, and acquire badges as the evening rolls out, and make sure to make room for lots of sticky s’mores that will be available as well. It’s all about fun, games, and winning prizes to get summer started the right way.

Teens who plan to read five or more books this summer can also sign-up to receive a $10 Barnes and Noble gift card for their efforts. There will also be other prizes up for grabs, including an iPad Mini, private pizza and video game party, and even gift baskets.
