Learn more about the technological advances made by the exploration of space at the NASA Ames Research and Visitor Center in Mountain View. One of ten research centers operated by NASA, the Ames Center has spearheaded research and development in the fields of supercomputing, robotics, lunar science, and flight testing.
The Visitor’s Center features exhibits like a space shuttle prototype, astronaut flight suits, flight simulation. and airport tower simulations. You can also see the world’s largest wind tunnel. Friendly and experienced tour guides are on hand to help you with your tour.
Open Tuesdays through Fridays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 4 p.m., the center is home to a cool gift shop that sells astronaut ice cream.
