The Pullman Kitchen: Local Fare by a Former Le Cirque Chef

June 9, 2015 | sack

Before Darren McRonald opened The Pullman Kitchen, he cut his teeth at New York City's legendary Le Cirque. This was after he'd already honed his skills at various restaurants throughout his high school and college careers and fine-tuned them at Table 29, where he'd served as pastry sous chef. After working at Le Cirque and Chez Panisse, he decided it was time to venture out on his own. So, backed by long-time friend and equally talented chef John Trunk, McRonald debuted The Pullman Kitchen.

As owner, Darren McRonald works closely with head chef John to devise a menu of New American cuisine, much of it using local ingredients. Regulars highly recommend you start your meal with an order of the bacon-wrapped dates, a decadent treat by all accounts. Just make sure you save room for the fish tacos, another favorite. Pullman roasted chicken, Bavette steak, and winemaker's pork stew (which is actually crafted with red wine) are other fresh options at The Pullman Kitchen.
