Oktoberfest: Your Chance to Sample Spaten
October 7, 2015 | sack
Germany is known for its beer, and Spaten can take much of the credit for that. The Munich-based company has been brewing beer for centuries according to the purity law set forth by Duke Wilhelm IV in 1516, which stated that German beer could only be brewed from simple hops, malt, and water. Spaten continues that tradition today, and on Oct. 11, you can sip some of its brews at Petaluma's own Oktoberfest.
It will unfold at Hermann Sons Hall just a little more than 10 minutes from Capri Creek. In addition to the authentic suds, Oktoberfest also promises classic cuisine. If you've never tried bratwurst or bockwurst, Bavarian meatloaf (traditionally known as "fleischkaese"), or any German desserts, this is your chance. A parade, dance performances, and live music are also on the itinerary for this year's Oktoberfest.
