Explore Petaluma’s Wildlife at Shollenberger Park
March 29, 2016 | sack
While the 165-acre Shollenberger Park was once a dumping ground for mud and silt back in the 1970s, today it is one of the most scenic parks in the Petaluma area. Located along the banks of the Petaluma River, the scenic park's former role as a dumping area transformed it into a lush, green space that's ideal for jogging, picnicking, and playing.
Shollenberger Park is contains a two-mile paved trail loop that's ideal for walking, jogging, or even exercising your dogs. If you want to take your exercise even further, there's also another one-mile cutoff trail that runs right through the Alman Marsh and to Petaluma's marina. Local nature lovers will even enjoy learning about the area's wildlife by observing the many critters and wide array of birds that call the park home.
