Do Your Part to Keep the Area Clean at the Fall Petaluma River Cleanup on September 17
September 9, 2016 | sack
Petaluma locals love the Petaluma River that flows through town, and on September 17, you have a chance to help keep the river clean and healthy. Starting at 9 a.m., meet at Steamer Landing Park to join your friends and neighbors for a clean-up party, followed by a barbecue with live entertainment and a raffle.
The clean-up efforts will mostly focus on picking up litter, trash, and debris from the shore, so helpers of all ages are welcome. There will also be opportunities for experienced canoers and kayakers to gear up and remove trash from the water. Come out with the whole family for a couple of hours of community volunteering, and then relax together as you chow down on hamburgers, hot dogs, and ice cream in the park.
