The food at Kitaru can be best described as Japanese tapas and sushi, and is complimented by a large selection of beer and sake that pairs perfectly with your meal. When you walk into Kitaru, you’ll find a space that’s cozy and warm and a staff that’s equally as inviting. You might even see the owner regularly walking the dining room to make sure that everyone is taken care of.

The impressive menu has so many options that you might want to ask your friendly server for a recommendation. The classic nigiri, sashimi and sushi rolls fill the menu, along with interesting hot tapas like prawn fritters and Japanese octopus dumplings. Kitaru is also a great place to take a crowd to try a few of their grilled skewers with options like Berkshire pork belly or scallops with tare sauce. Prices are reasonable considering the personal service and freshness of the ingredients.

Kitaru is open for lunch and dinner service, but is closed in between.
