April 19, 2019 | sack

Stockhome in Petaluma is a family-friendly, counter-service eatery serving a variety of street food cuisine popular in Sweden. The menu mixes Turkish and Mediterranean fare found in the larger cities of Sweden with homey classics like Swedish meatballs, pickled herring, and Swedish pancakes. Start with the lamb and beef kebab plate made with thin slices of juicy lamb and beef and topped with a light tomato sauce and a side of garlic yogurt. Larger dishes include plank steak, wienerschnitzel, and a mashed potato bowl loaded with meatballs, fluffy potatoes, and a delicate brown gravy.

The 40-seat restaurant, with a 10-seat private dining room, has a modern, Scandinavian look with bright pops of blue and vintage Josef Frank floral wallpaper. The large open dining room has long group tables as well as more intimate seating options. Visit Stockhome Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
