Carolers belting out holiday tunes; actors depicting classic Christmas tales; dancers flowing to the well-worn melodies of wintry songs. It's all happening at the Holiday Open House in downtown Petaluma on Dec. 5, which will unfold from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. not far from Capri Creek.

The holiday activities will be many and diverse, so bring along your whole brood and be pleasantly surprised by all of the festive offerings. Some that will certainly be on the itinerary are horse-drawn carriage rides around the city and face-painting for your little ones. Admission is free, so don't worry about bringing along cash for the event. Just get ready to meet and greet some of the local business owners and enjoy the holiday cheer emanating from every storefront in downtown Petaluma.
