Barber Cellars’ Tasting Room: Sip Local Wines in an Art Deco Hotel
January 26, 2016 | sack
Weathered slats of wood cover the walls. Plush, cream-colored antique chairs offer comfort. Repurposed wine barrels serve as both cute tables, and stunning reminders of where it all began—where Barber Cellars began, that is. This is the layout of its tasting room in Hotel Petaluma, an art deco hotel about 10 minutes from Capri Creek.
If the rustic-chic aesthetic isn't reason enough for you to visit the tasting room, then perhaps the wine will be. The local winery produces vinos from grapes reaped at a few different California vineyards, producing its signature Mr. Beast Zinfandel, Rougissant Pinot Gris, and even a wine-based Dolcezza Zinfandel Chocolate Sauce. You can sip some of Barber Cellars' pours at the tasting room, as well as other sips from local producers, and nibble on cheese crafted by California artisans at the same time.
