Iron Hill Park: A Newark Community Landmark

Iron Hill Park is proof that anything can be turned into a natural wonder. Located on Old Baltimore Pike, Iron Hill Park served as an iron mine for many years. Now, local volunteers have lovingly restored it as a 335 acre community jewel. This is a terrific spot to bring the family and enjoy the beauty of nature.
There’s plenty of room in the picnic area for families and friends to gather, and everyone is welcome to take a hike to get some exercise. Photography is not only allowed, it’s encouraged! There are monthly nature tours, and bring the family to the Iron Hill Park Museum. Operated by the Delaware Academy of Science, the museum is a place of fun and learning.

The Argilla Brewing Company proves that big things really do come in small packages. As the smallest micro-brewery in Delaware, Argilla Brewing Company still produces some of the best handcrafted brews in the area. Not bad for an establishment that started out as a take-out pizzeria!
Come on in and have a seat at the bar, where you’ll always find a number of traditional and seasonal beers, brewed on site. You may just find a favorite, and there’s always something new to try. Have a seat in the dining area and enjoy the pizza that made the original Pietro’s Pizza a popular spot. There’s also lots of other pub grub that will pair well with whatever beer you choose.
