Leap and Laugh at Launch Trampoline Park in Newark

If you or the kids need to blow off some steam, you should head to Launch Trampoline Park. From the floors to the walls, this place is one giant trampoline just waiting for you to bounce until you can bounce no more. You can come in during free time, book a party for yourself or your child, or bring your child in for toddler time or middle or high school night. In addition, the first Sunday of every month is kids' day. Not only do the kids get to bounce, but they can also have their face painted and participate in a craft activity.

Launch Trampoline Park also has fitness classes, dodgeball, and a special area for small children. There is a cafe so that you can get a snack after working up an appetite jumping and an arcade for when you need to cool down on a break. Don’t forget to say high to Joey, Launch's kangaroo mascot, if you see him hopping around.

Unleash Your Inner Artist at the Newark Arts Alliance

If you need a creative outlet, head to Newark Arts Alliance and peruse the latest exhibition. Most of the art that is on exhibit is created by local artists and is available for purchase. If you wish, you can take part in one of the center's many events or classes, which are available for kids, teens, and adults. The Newark Arts Alliance even offers a girls' night out class so that you and your friends can get creative while sampling wine and cheese.

On top of the classes that are offered, the Newark Arts Alliance offers Camp Imagine for children. For two weeks in August, children can participate in both visual and performing arts programs. The Newark Arts Alliance also has an “Art to Go” program that allows them to reach out to under-served populations.

The Newark Arts Alliance is over 20 years old and is available for parties and functions.

Take to the Trails at White Clay Creek State Park

White Clay Creek State Park offers a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy while getting some much-needed exercise and fresh air. From the multi-use trails to the volleyball court and the playground, it's all well-maintained for your year round use. The park also has areas where you can fish, hunt, and if you reserve in advance, throw a party.

Additionally, there are also a variety of nature and cultural classes available at White Clay Creek, as well as a summer camp for children to enjoy. If you homeschool, there are programs available to supplement your curriculum including a marker for the Mason-Dixon Line that is on one of the trails in the park.

Don't skip over the Judge Morris Estate, the historic home of an 18th-century Delaware native who was a respected attorney and distinguished federal judge. The home can be used for a variety of special events and can be toured, as well.

There’s More Than Just Fruit and Veggies at the Newark Farmers Market

Judge Morris Estate: Tour the Past

You don’t have to go far to see an example of colonial living in Newark, not when there’s the Judge Morris Estate. Located on the grounds of White Clay Creek State park, the Judge Morris Estate was built in 1790 for a native Delawarean and federal judge, and is now open for tours and other functions. Reserve a private tour for up to 15 people, and your group can learn firsthand about colonial life. Explore the furnishings and history of this great old mansion. You can even add a private tea at the end of the tour. What a great idea for a day out with friends! And if you’re having a special event, what better place to have it?

Newark Arts Alliance: Promoting the Arts

Located in the center of downtown Newark, the Newark Arts Alliance sponsors a number of shows and programs that promotes the arts in the community. Take a garden tour through the town and enjoy the music and gardening tips. If it’s the first Sunday of the month, then it’s time for Music Jams, where everybody is invited to join in. Check out the drum circle on every fourth Sunday. Come to the gallery to sample the work of talented artists, or join the NAA and enter your own works of art!
