Check Out “Skeletons in the Closet” at The Charleston Museum

Have you ever considered what's under the skin of an American bullfrog? How about a yellow-bellied slider turtle? Whether the answer is yes or no, something interesting awaits at Skeletons in the Closet: Exploring Skeletal Anatomy at The Charleston Museum. From now until February, this exhibit showcases the skeletons of various critters.

This exhibit is actually a collection amassed by the museum's former director Gabriel E. Manigualt, who served as the curator of the museum starting in 1873. During his time as curator, the anatomy of various creatures piqued his interest, and he began to collect the skeletons of similarly assembled animals such as lizards, turtles, and frogs. This new display showcases the ways in which the skeletons are similar, giving guests a peek beneath the skin of these small creatures. Check out this unique exhibit at this local museum.
