Rare Rock Mosaic Art Museum: Masterpieces Co-Created by Mother Nature

July 10, 2015 | sack

Rare Rock Mosaic Art Museum explores the real of natural art in a stunning way. True to its name, the museum features pieces crafted entirely from shards of stone—and here's the kicker: they all feature their natural colors. The artist who contributes to the gallery (Kimberly Mosier) never paints any of the rocks. Instead, he finds ones that are already the perfect hue for his pieces thanks to Mother Nature.

Check out Visiting Royalty, a masterpiece that depicts monarch butterflies feasting on colorful flowers. Or check out Rigged, a rare-rock rendition of a pirate ship sailing the high seas. Mosier's works also explore scenes you'd find in everyday life, like frosty glasses of lemonade patiently waiting to be claimed atop a table (known as Lemon Imbibition). See all of these pieces and more offbeat works at the Rare Rock Mosaic Art Museum in Santa Rosa.
