Why Did Snoopy Dream of Flight? Find Out at the Charles M. Schulz Museum
November 3, 2015 | sack
If you think you've heard the name Charles Schulz before, it's probably because you have. He's the man behind Peanuts, an iconic comic strip that continues to delight readers today. The Charles M. Schulz Museum sheds some light on his genius through its permanent and traveling exhibits, all of which pay homage to Schulz's artistic achievements.
The museum resides just about 10 minutes from Creekside Park, so make the quick drive there this weekend to check out the Snoopy and the Red Baron exhibit. It just opened at the end of October and will remain on display through April. The exhibit illuminates the inspiration behind Snoopy's dreams of becoming a WWI pilot on the 50th anniversary of his very first daydream. Learn what Schulz had to say about how his son's affinity for model airplanes played into his art at the time as you explore this exhibit. You can also check out The Peanuts Movie: From Schulz's Pen Line to the Big Screen and Celebrating 65 Years of Peanuts at the museum right now, as well as the permanent collection of Peanuts-related relics.
