Pacific Coast Air Museum: Climb Aboard Historical Aircraft

January 29, 2016 | sack

If you have a child at home who's obsessed with airplanes, then the Pacific Coast Air Museum will be able to keep him or her occupied for hours. Situated just about 15 minutes from Creekside Park, the museum is home to a fleet of retired air craft, many of which played major roles in national aviation history.

On a sunny day, bring your brood to explore the open field where Pacific Coast Air Museum's collection of jets, helicopters, and other aircraft live. While you're there, you'll see a Boeing F-1 Eagle that played a part in the aftermath of the September 11 attacks, a UH-1H Huey which actually flew in the war, and many other planes—some of which you can actually climb aboard. Visitors report that, for the most part, aircraft are practically in mint condition. The aviation toys in the gift store are actually in mint condition, and your youngsters will probably enjoy checking them out, too.
