Serious Hikers and Leisurely Strollers Alike Will Enjoy Taylor Mountain Regional Park

August 29, 2016 | sack

Taylor Mountain Regional Park is a favorite Santa Rosa destination for serious hikers and leisurely strollers alike, thanks to its stunning vista views of the city, 1,000 acres of grasslands, and more than 5 miles of trails and paths. There's even an 18-hole disc golf course, if that's something you enjoy!

Visitors looking for a challenging hike should choose the Eastern Trail, which rises nearly a thousand feet to the top of the mountain, while park-goers who prefer a less strenuous experience might enjoy the Todd Creek Loop, which hugs the water and meanders through a wooded area. Local ranchers do have grazing rights here, so depending on when and where you visit, you might even encounter a few grazing cows in the park! Finally, you should be aware that while there's plenty of parking at Taylor Mountain, it does cost $7 per vehicle.
