La Gare is a family owned French restaurant located in the Santa Rosa railroad square since 1979. Using only fresh, local ingredients and top French and European cooking techniques, La Gare is one of Santa Rosa’s most romantic restaurants. The space is intimate, with a beautiful copper accents, and the atmosphere is elegant and relaxed. The wait staff is very knowledgeable and is accommodating to allergies such as gluten and seafood.
La Gare is best known for their Beef Wellington – tenderloin rolled in crust, mushrooms, pate, and ham. Other menu favorites include the escargot, the double New York strip steak, and the chicken Marco polo. Be sure to make a reservation, however; since La Gare is a popular restaurant, it tends to get crowded on weeknights and weekends.
