If you enjoy jazz and blues, be sure to make time in your schedule this weekend for Guerneville's annual Russian River Jazz and Blues Festival. This outdoor music festival runs September 10th and 11th at the Johnson Beach riverfront, surrounded by beautiful redwood forest.

Music is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, and the main stage will feature performances by up-and-coming local musicians, as well as nationally-known artists like Nikki Hill, Bobby Rush, and Chaka Khan. You can expect the atmosphere to be casual and laid-back, with some visitors setting up lawn chairs or spreading blankets on the grass, while others head to the water for a bit of kayaking, tubing, or swimming. Visit the shady wine garden to relax while you enjoy the music, or stop by the international food court to nosh on everything from tacos to burgers to kabobs.
