Founded as a Harrisburg venue that "promoted science, the arts, and could culturally enrich the downtown area," the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts made its debut in 1999. Since then, the golden sandstone building, which encompasses 130,000 square feet, has become a beloved local destination for movies, live entertainment, and scientific discovery.

Want to catch the latest blockbuster flick? Purchase tickets to movie at the Whitaker Center's digital IMAX theater. Hoping to expand your cultural horizons? Make plans to attend a performance of ballet, live music, or theater within the 700-seat, state-of-the-art Sunoco Performance Theater! And let's not overlook Harrisburg's younger residents! As its name implies, the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts plays host to three floors of interactive science exhibits for learners aged 5 and up!
