This Weekend, Take a Lap Through the Pumpkin Patch at Strites Orchard

October 4, 2016 | desouzabrown

Button up your flannel shirt and pull on your favorite fall boots: Autumn is officially here! Usher in the new season with a visit to Strites Orchard. This 300-acre family farm has been a part of the Harrisburg landscape since 1843, and it's a beloved local destination for pick-your-own produce and other seasonal "agritainment."

Right now at the farm, apples (Red Delicious, Macoun, and Staymen Winesap) are ripe for the picking, while pumpkins in the pumpkin patch are just waiting to decorate your doorstep (or to be carved into a spooky jack o'lantern!). After taking a lap through the orchards and pumpkin patch, head to the farm's on-site bakery to refuel with an apple cider doughnut (or two!) and a mug of hot apple cider. Strites Orchard also has fall decor for sale, such as cornstalks and mums. Happy fall, everyone!
