The PA Renaissance Faire Returns for Its 37th Season on Aug. 5
August 1, 2017 | desouzabrown
Travel back to 1518 England with a visit to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Returning to Lancaster's Mount Hope Estate for its 37th season, this beloved event transforms the estate's 35 acres into a 16th-century European village, complete with food, entertainment, and shopping.
Costumed villagers will swarm the "Shire" every day, contributing to the event's immersive feel. Ninety different performances, from magic acts to stunts, take place daily, while pint-sized visitors can head to the Children’s Discovery Area for activities and games just for them. If you work up an appetite, take a lap through the food market for an oversized turkey leg, pulled pork, pretzels, and more themed eats. Wash it all down with a pint of ale, then peruse the vendor market for Faire-related gifts.
The 2017 season of the PA Renaissance Faire kicks off on Aug. 5 and is held every weekend through Oct. 29. Tickets can be purchased at the gate, but they're cheaper if you scoop them up online.
