Sandwiches and Poutine are the Focus at The Kroft

Estrella has a new neighbor, sort of. Enter The Kroft, a popular sandwich shop that's only 10 minutes away in Union Market. The Kroft specializes in much more than just ordinary sandwiches — they're inspired by worldly favors and produced with ingredients from local farms.

The Kroft is also categorized as a poutinery, or a restaurant specializing in poutine, a Canadian dish consisting of fries and cheese curds crowned with gravy. The potatoes (for the fries) are hand-cut and the gravy comes from locally sourced meats. In addition to a variety of poutine, the menu also offers porchetta sandwiches, fried chicken sandwiches, French dip sandwiches, and much more.

Not a fan of lines? Avoid this place during peak times as it is very, very popular — but fans say the food is well worth the wait.
