There are many reasons why you may be looking for apartments near Disneyland, California. Maybe your children are huge fans of the park, or perhaps you just got a job as a character or engineer at The Happiest Place on Earth. Whatever your reason for wanting to live near Disneyland, it’s good to know as much as you can about the park before moving to Tustin. To help you get started, here’s a quick look at the park’s history, attractions, and events.

Creating Disneyland Park

First opened in 1955 in Anaheim, California, the Disneyland theme park is the result of Walt Disney’s vision. His desire to bring happiness to people of all ages motivated him to make this dream project a reality. After seeing the excitement his daughters had on a small merry-go-round at a park near his home, he got inspired to create a truly wonderful place that would thrill each child and adult beyond their wildest dreams. His initial design of the park was based on the characters he had developed and the movies of Walt Disney Studios. Over the years, it has expanded to include the many wonderful Disney characters that were created after Walt’s passing.

Disneyland Layout

Disneyland Park is divided into separate areas that focus on specific attractions. These areas include Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Adventureland, to name a few. Fantasyland is related to all things fairy tale, Frontierland lets you experience the Wild West, and Adventureland offers a peak into the world’s most exotic locations. Upon entering the park, visitors walk down Main Street U.S.A. and pass shops and attractions to reach Cinderella’s Castle, the centerpiece of the park. The fun at Disneyland is constantly expanding, and plans are underway to create new sections of the park, namely a section that will be entirely devoted to the Star Wars franchise.

Rides and Attractions

Disney took a lot of care in creating rides and attractions that could immerse visitors in experiences and provide traditional theme park thrills. The Pirates of the Caribbean ride, for example, makes visitors feel as though they’ve traveled back in time to the days of colonial privateering, but also gives guests a few stomach-curling moments as the log flume suddenly drops in the dark. Perhaps a more extreme example is Space Mountain, a roller coaster ride that propels guests past planets, stars, and galaxies at astronomical speeds. There are nearly 60 attractions in the Disneyland theme park, including rides, shows, and exhibits.

Ongoing Events

Disneyland’s standing attractions aren’t the only things to enjoy at the park. Guests are also privy to several recurring events throughout the day. The Paint the Night Parade – a caravan of twinkling floats which carry an assortment of Disney characters – is popular among children and adults alike. The fireworks display is also extremely popular and is held every night over Cinderella’s Castle. Aside from these daily occurrences, the park also hosts a number of seasonal events during which time the park is adorned in special decorations.

With acres and acres of amazing rides and incredible attractions, it is no wonder why Disneyland is often called The Happiest Place on Earth.
