Stop and Smell the Roses at the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden

April 21, 2015 | sack

Visit the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden on a sunny day and you’ll find locals and tourists walking through the plush grass admiring the stunning variety of colors and scents of the roses. Sit by the fountain at the center and enjoy this cultivated green, serene space in the bustling city. Or perhaps join some friends on a blanket for a weekend picnic, or bring a date and watch the sunset among the blooms.

Locals call this quiet spot the best park in Silicon Valley, a perfect place to gather your thoughts and maybe learn a bit about the art of rose gardening. Maps at the park show the names of all the rose varieties, and which roses are the most fragrant. The nonprofit Friends of the San Jose Rose Garden work hard year-round to maintain the garden.

For more information about the park and its nonprofit, visit the San Jose Municipal Rose Garden website.
