San Jose locals know how beautiful a vista view of the city can be, which is why Sierra Road is such a popular spot. This winding road runs along the ridge above the city, and Yelp reviewers say its views simply can't be beat.
Consider packing a picnic lunch if you visit during the afternoon and you'll be able to relax and enjoy the view for an hour or so. Alternatively, you might choose to gear up and hike along the road to get your blood flowing. When you arrive, you'll find that there are two major overlooks: The first is at the top of the summit, where you'll be able to see the entire South Bay. The second overlook is a little further down, and is especially popular with visitors who want to admire the city lights at night. Do be aware that the road can be quite narrow and winding in places, so be prepared to drive with care!
