The Studio: Indoor Rock-Climbing in San Jose

June 29, 2018 | sack

If you step inside The Studio today, it's pretty hard to believe that this rock-climbing gym was once a single-screen movie theater. Yet, it's true. Where the 40-foot lead wall and 11,000 square feet of the vertical climbing area now spread out, you could once come to see first-run flicks. Customers don't seem to mind that a more active form of entertainment has taken over, though.

They enjoy testing their physical limits by tackling more than 120 different climbing routes that web across the walls. Start with an introductory climbing class to learn the basics of scaling the faux rock, then feel free to try your hand at some of the simpler routes or check out the bouldering area. If you'd like to participate in a more traditional group exercise class, try a yoga, TRX, or boot camp session at The Studio.
