Find Gyros, Rice Bowls and More at ACHILLES
August 15, 2018 | sack
In ancient Greek mythology, Achilles is a contradictory figure, at once the greatest warrior in the Trojan War and yet vulnerable to the most meager opponent. In Santa Clara, ACHILLES is a lot simpler than that—it’s one of the newest and best reviewed spots for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food in the area.
Though it’s only been open since mid-May, this lunch and dinner spot has already been racking up positive reviews. The setup is similar to what you’d see at a fast-casual restaurant: first you’ll choose your bread (pita, wrap, or rice bowl), then your protein (gyro, chicken, falafel, chicken shwarma, or others). Finally, choose toppings and sauces like greens, tahnini, hummus, baba ghanouj, or the signature Achilles spicy sauce. One of most popular orders is the gyro beef and lamb wrap, but everyone has their own personal favorite. Oh, and just try to resist ordering a side of the seasoned waffle fries!
