What could be more satisfying than a steaming hot bowl of ramen? Plenty of chewy noodles doused in savory broth, and then topped with paper-thin slices of meat and aromatic vegetables. The next time your hungry stomach has a hole that only ramen will fill, check out Porco Ramen on Berryessa Road in San Jose.
This modern ramen shop features five different noodle and broth combination, from the namesake Porco bowl with 12-hour pork bone broth to the spicy miso with a generous amount of heat. Each bowl comes filled to the brim with meat, egg, and toppings, but you can always add a few more. Porco Ramen also has a few appetizers and rice dishes, along with Japanese beers and sake to complete your meal. It’s relatively easy to find a seat, and service is always quick. Plus, the portion sizes are sure to fill you up, especially considering each bowl is $14 or less.
Porco Ramen is closed on Sundays, but open for separate lunch and dinner seatings the rest of the week.
