Grab a Burger or Pita Sandwich at Falafel’s Drive-In

April 30, 2019 | sack

With a name like Falafel’s Drive-In, it might surprise you to learn that this local eatery opened in 1966 as a burger joint. Owners Anton and Zahie started slinging burgers more than 50 years ago and gradually expanded their menu to include the foods they’d grown up eating and cooking—especially the signature falafel.

If you’re a fan of Middle Eastern food, dig into a pita sandwich stuffed with fresh, hot falafel, lettuce, tomato, cucumbers, a drizzle of tahini, and a surprising dash of house-made hot sauce. If you prefer a meal with meat, try the gyro (spiced beef steak) stuffed inside of fresh pita bread or the ground beef kafta kabob served over a bed of salad. The drive-in also continues to serve burgers and fries, including the Super Hamburger with lettuce, tomato, ketchup, and mustard.
