Build Your Own Ahi Tuna Bowl at Poke Bar

December 16, 2015 | sack

Launched by the same people behind L.A.'s popular Yanagi Sushi, Poke Bar is already poised for success even though it only opened two weeks ago. Located less than a mile from Fountain Park, Poke Bar focuses on one aspect of Yanagi Sushi's menu: fresh ahi tuna.

The DIY style at Poke Bar lets you create your own poke bowl the way you want it, starting with a base of brown or white rice, organic spring mix, or tortilla chips. Next you pick your type of poke. Options range from the quinoa blend with ahi, kale, masago, oga, sesame seeds, and house dressing to the tofu poke, which skips the fish in favor of a plant-based protein. Once you've decided on your poke, add any extras, such as cucumber salad, spicy edamame, or miso soup.
